- Obama is again pushing for a “grand bargain” with Republicans – meaning cuts to entitlements and new tax revenues via some combination of higher rates, closing loopholes, and eliminating tax expenditures.
- Physicists say they have found the Higgs boson, the so-called “God particle.” Last July scientists thought that they had found evidence of the boson, but did not consider it conclusive that it was the exact particle and not something ‘Higgs-like.’ Now, they claim that they have gathered enough data to conclude that it is in fact the real deal.
- “This is not Dick Cheney we’re talking about here,” Obama told Senate Democrats in regards to his administration’s memos on drone policy and lethal force on American terror suspects located around the world. This is just over a week after Rand Paul’s filibuster over whether or not Obama’s legal team thinks that drones can be used on American citizens on American soil (Eric Holder said they don’t).
- Samsung announced their latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S4. It’s a beast of a device, featuring a quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel camera (more than my DSLR!), and wireless charging.
- The man who filmed Mitt Romney’s ’47 percent’ comments has come out of hiding. He’s a bartender named Scott Proutly who works for high-end clientele in Florida.
