Manchester City FC introduces WiFi for fans

Paul Sawers for The Next Web:

One month after Liverpool Football Club became the first top-tier British club to roll-out WiFi in its stadium, Manchester City has announced it too is to start rolling out WiFi, in addition to a real-time mobile-video streaming service.

As trivial as this sounds, the continual roll out of internet availability at football (soccer) grounds around the UK is a great step forward. As Sawer notes, the consistent struggle for good 3G signal at stadiums is one of the drawbacks of watching such an exciting sport in the flesh. I can’t wait to see all Premier and Football League clubs provide WiFi for fans as a matter of course.
